I am a writer, director and producer based in Athens, Greece, and the founder of ASIMINA PROEDROU FILM PRODUCTIONS.
My work explores how social and political structures become embedded in everyday life, shaping the way people love, desire, fear and ultimately relate to one another. Through intimate, character-driven stories, often centred on female protagonists, I seek the point where the personal becomes political, revealing how systems of power are sustained through ordinary human behaviour.
Rooted in psychoanalytic thought and social anthropology, my films do not seek to judge their characters but to understand and empathize with them. I am drawn to moral ambiguity, to the contradictions of human behaviour, and to the fragile humanity that persists even within oppressive social structures. I am equally passionate about expanding the expressive possibilities of film, constantly experimenting with narrative form and cinematic language to create immersive psychological experiences that bring audiences closer to my characters.
